Couldn't Help But Over Hear

Depending on your flight path coming into and out of Washington National airport, you can see some really spectacular views of Washington, DC. Here's some of what you can see when taking off from National.

While landing today at National, I couldn't help but overhear a woman behind me say to the rest of her family traveling with her, "Look, there's the State Capital!"

I did a sort of double-take, looking over at the older gentleman across the aisle from me, both of us saying to each other (without actually saying anything at all), "Did she just really say that?!"

I was so close to turning around and saying to her, "ma'am, that's our Nation's Capital. And by the way, D.C. isn't a State."

But I thought better of it, and just kept my mouth shut.
